Working with young children and adolescents is not the same as working with adults. I have extensive experience of working in teaching and leadership in educational settings and understand how SEND can impact a young person’s well- being and self-esteem. A child struggling in the classroom can develop anxiety and distress which can then be expressed through challenging and disruptive behaviours. This may lead to school refusal or exclusion. I can use my specialist training in Child Focused Practice and my knowledge, skills and experience from my time in education to apply a creative, playful and collaborative approach to sessions. This will engage your children in the therapy process and support them to feel safe to express and explore their feelings and emotions safely.
Parenting is a lifelong commitment it is a role which is constantly changing presenting you with different demands as your child grows.
Common challenges might include: sleeping patterns, toileting, bed wetting, attachment difficulties, establishing routines, challenging behaviours, addiction to gaming, managing anger, eating disorders, self-harming, depression, low self-esteem, anxiety, PTSD, overcoming trauma, managing chronic illness or disability, bullying, sibling rivalry, parental separation, step parenting, lone parenting.
Together we can explore and identify the roots and triggers around the problems. I can support and guide you to identify new pathways to move forward positively with your family.
A family entering into therapy will be making a commitment to explore how each family member perceives the problem. Together we will work collaboratively in a safe, non- judgemental process to ensure that all voices are heard. Support will be given to each individual family member enabling them to gain a deeper understanding of their family relationships and communication patterns. Family strengths will be identified supporting positive change for a more fulfilling happy family life.
I can support you to explore difficult thoughts and emotions safely. Sessions will encourage self- reflection of your life and personal relationships. Together we will work through issues, identifying your strengths helping you to move forward towards your personal goals with certainty. Creating opportunity for a calmer and fulfilling life.
Life changes can create challenges and stress in a couple relationship. I can use my expertise and skills as a therapist to sensitively explore what shapes and influences your partnership. Together we will work through your struggles supporting a mutual more in-depth understanding of individual perspectives. This will improve communication and will help you both to move forward into a healthy satisfying partnership or if your relationship cannot be saved, I can support you to manage separation in the best way.
Common issues include: infidelity, trust, attachment, bereavement, redundancy, anxiety, depression, divorce, separation, psycho-sexual issues, illness and transitional life changes.

Having worked extensively in leadership roles in education, the NHS and social care, I have a good understanding of the challenges that professionals face on a daily basis. I can provide and facilitate bespoke systemic staff reflective supervision facilitating and embedding systemic thinking into your school’s ethos. Supervision groups can give staff time to be reflective and gain insight into some of the underlying conflicts and stress that they regularly have to absorb in their roles as educationalists. Following an initial consultation, I would be happy to create workshops tailored to your needs.
